The American bison once roamed across most of North America in numbers that reached into the tens of millions, but was brought to near extinction in the 1800s. Through conservation efforts, bison numbers have increased significantly. Their range was once the majority of North America, but after nearly going extinct, they now roam in several regions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In Europe, bison were once widespread across the continent. The species was driven to the edge of extinction in the early twentieth century by hunting and habitat loss.

This guide is meant for children from ages 7 to 12 though it can be enjoyed by all ages!
