Autumn is a great time to nature journal these fun and fascinating animals. By watching how they gather food and prepare for winter, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of squirrels, their adaptations, and survival strategies.

For this lesson, I’ll be focusing on the eastern gray squirrel, one of the most common squirrels in our area. You can observe any squirrel species you’d like!

In this lesson, we’ll also learn about the element of shape in art, the “construction” drawing technique, and much more!
